Thornfalcon Car Show 2008

The weather on the days before the meet had everyone concerned and undecided, but hey!, "He who dares" (Rodney). We were rewarded with an overcast, but rainless day.

Unfortunately the gremlins had already struck. Steve's Spit was still poorly since it's return from Stafford and Glenn was cruelly beaten after doing a record Differential change only the day before the run. So, Joan took the Toledo with a friend and John took a new acquisition (Non-Triumph, in fact an MG!!!) with a friend and Glenn; still determined to get to the meet. We met Sharon in her Spit and Steve riding shotgun still. There also were Dave and Kay and George and Edith in undercover cars!! Eleven souls then for an event-free run to Hatch Beauchamp.

There we met Marshall and Heather (Triumph-less) and Peter in his TR7 before entering the Event. The weather forecast may have reduced the numbers but there were still hundreds of quality cars on show. The size of our gang (14) also made it a good social gathering. Sue and John Franklin (Devon A.O.'s) were there with some of the South Devon gang, so lots of chat.

Our party broke up and some peeled off to leave a remnant of 3 cars, amongst the last to leave the site, for our home run. We stopped at Aller Cross for our usual Sunday Carvery. After all the anxiety, we cruised home for another trouble free great day.
